Kresge Library at Business School now online with MENTOR

From the School of Business Administration

Students and faculty using the Kresge Business Administration Library now can search the catalog online through MENTOR.

MENTOR (Michigan Electronic Network to Online Resources) provides call number and bibliographic information on books, periodicals, working papers and dissertations available in the library’s extensive collection.

The collection includes 115,000 volumes catalogued in 63,500 records. Approximately 2,700 students, faculty and staff annually use the library.

The holdings can be searched by such access points as author, title and subject heading. Records are not included for the library’s corporate reports, manufacturers’ directories on microfiche, CD-ROM subscriptions and some other specialized files.

Future enhancement of the system will include automation of the library’s circulations system and access to additional databases.

MENTOR joins the University Library’s MIRLYN system and the Law Library’s LEXCALIBUR in providing users with electronic access to most campus library resources.

MENTOR can be used from any terminal on or off campus that has access to UMnet. At the Which Host? prompt, type “um-mentor”. At Login, type “mentor” (all lower case).

To access the system from remote sites through the Internet or from other locations on the MichNet/UMnet campus network, check at the library’s reference desk for a remote access procedures sheet.
