Retirees can receive Mcards
Retired faculty and staff may apply for Mcards, photo identification cards which give them convenient access to many campus privileges. Mcards can be used as a library card, to enter computer sites, as a debit card with 65 local merchants, as an automatic teller machine card linked to a bank account, and used with a cash chip to make small purchases. CSCAR’s “Missing Data”
workshop to be held July 22-23
“Statistical Analysis with Missing Data,” a two-day workshop, will be held 13 p.m. July 22-23 in the Natural Sciences Auditorium. The workshop, presented by the Center for Statistical Consultation and Research (CSCAR), will be led by Roderick Little, chair of the Department of Biostatistics and professor of statistics, and Trivellore Raghunathan of the Survey Research Center. The workshop is recommended for any researcher considering imputation or other methods to deal with missing values. The $50 fee for U-M affiliates ($125 for non-affiliates) includes lecture notes. Discussion will celebrate
opening of new exhibitions
A round-table discussion to celebrate the opening of exhibitions of architectural drawings by Herbert W. Jobe and Albert Kahn will be held at 3 p.m. Sat. (July 13) in the Museum of Art. William Hennessey, director of the Museum of Art, will chair the discussion between Bill Demiene, vice president of Albert Kahn Associates, Ellen A. Plummer, assistant director of programs at the Museum, Annette W. LeCuyer, professor of architecture, and Herbert W. Johe, professor emeritus of architecture.
Pound House seeks volunteers
Pound House Children’s Center currently is accepting student volunteers to assist in the summer child care program for children ages 2 1/2-5 years. Volunteers must be available four hours per week. One work-study position is available 12:30-3:30 p.m. Mon.Fri. For information, call 764-2547.
Workshop on 20th century
innovators to be held July 23
The relationships among some of the great innovators and pioneers of the 20th century, including Henry Ford and George Washington Carver, will be discussed at a workshop presented by the Center for Heritage Education at the Henry Ford Estate 8:30 a.m.—4 p.m. July 23. The workshop, $10, includes a tour of the Estate, lunch, an information packet and instruction from School of Education faculty members. Deadline for registration is tomorrow (July 10). The Department of Recreational Sports’ Intramural Sports Program will take entries for 1996 summer term softball, sand volleyball and 3-on-3 basketball tomorrow (July 10) at the Intramural Sports Building (IMSB). Manager’s Meetings will be held in the IMSB tomorrow at 5:30 p.m. for softball, 6:30 p.m. for volleyball and 7:30 p.m. for basketball. Trauma Burn Center

U-M-Flint runs
summer camp for kids
Camp Summer Fun, sponsored by the U-M-Flint Recreation Center, is offered to kids ages 612 in two sessions: July 1519 and

M-CARE is sponsoring
charity golf outing
M-CARE is sponsoring a golf outing to benefit the Ann Arbor Community Center at 10 a.m. Aug. 3 at Reddeman Farms Golf Course in Chelsea. The New American
is at Museum of Art
“The New American,” a new installation by Detroit artist Carl Demeulenaere, is on display through Aug. 18 at the Museum of Art. The artist uses Grant Wood’s American Gothic as a basis for examining the contemporary American family from a non-traditional perspective. OIP seeks hosts
for exchange students
The Office of International Programs seeks families interested in hosting exchange students from Finland, Russia, Japan and Korea for the 1996-97 academic year. The students, who speak English well, will visit the U-M as juniors or seniors and arrive in Ann Arbor in mid-August. Host families will not provide housing for the students but will be asked to show the students around Ann Arbor and offer friendly support as the students adjust to the new surroundings. Carillon bells will ring on
Mondays throughout summer
The bells of the Charles Baird Carillon will ring with music performed by local and international recitalists at 7 p.m. Mondays through July 29. Edward M. Nassor, carillonneur at the Washington National Cathedral and Arlington National Cemetery, will perform July 15. The series is sponsored in part by the School of Music. Child Development Center will hold open house for kindergarten
The U-M-Dearborn Child Development Center will hold an open house for its kindergarten program 5-6:30 p.m. July 17 in Mod 29 on the Dearborn campus. The open house is for prospective fall 1996 kindergarten students and their families, as well as other interested members of the community. Enrollment is open to all children who will reach age 5 before Dec. 1. Teachers and staff members will be available to answer questions regarding enrollment, tuition, scholarships and other topics. Personal mileage reimbursement rate has changed

U-M-Dearborn seeks art
featuring exotic flowers
The U-M-Dearborn Art Museum Project invites artists 18 years of age and older who live or work in Michigan to participate in an art competition. Selected works will be displayed in an exhibition, “Exotics: Botanicals by Michigan Artists” in the Alfred Berkowitz Gallery at the U-M-Dearborn in April-May 1997.
Two-dimensional works of art that depict exotic flora subjects are sought in various media and techniques. Works will be

UMS offers
subscription packages
The University Musical Society (UMS) is offering series subscription packages for the 1996-97 season. Learn infant and child CPR
The Pediatric Primary Care Clinic is sponsoring Red Cross Certification classes in infant and child CPR. Each five-hour class is offered for 2 1/2 hours on July 20-21, Aug. 17-18 and August 24-25. For the record . . .
An article in the June 25 issue of The University Record stated that authorization approval is no longer needed for access to administrative data. Authorization approval is still needed, but a new process for getting access to administrative data on the Data Systems Center (DSC) mainframe and servers has been implemented.
Users who need access to administrative data should contact their DSC Access Administrator (DAA). The DAAs receive and process system access requests forms for most departments.
