Personal mileage reimbursement rate has changed

U-M-Dearborn seeks art
featuring exotic flowers
The U-M-Dearborn Art Museum Project invites artists 18 years of age and older who live or work in Michigan to participate in an art competition. Selected works will be displayed in an exhibition, “Exotics: Botanicals by Michigan Artists” in the Alfred Berkowitz Gallery at the U-M-Dearborn in April–May 1997.
Two-dimensional works of art that depict exotic flora subjects are sought in various media and techniques. Works will be selected from slide entries, due Feb. 28, 1997. For more information, call 593-5058.
ABPAFS awards are tomorrow
The Association of Black Professionals, Administrators, Faculty and Staff (ABPAFS) will host its annual Awards and Recognition Ceremony at 3:30 p.m. Wed. LIR presents ‘The Wrong Box’

Discussion group for survivors
of prostate cancer is Thursday
The Prostate Cancer Education and Support Group presents a survivor panel and discussion group for people who are considering or who have undergone various treatments for prostate cancer. charity golf outing
M-CARE is sponsoring a golf outing to benefit the Ann Arbor Community Center at 10 a.m. August 3 at Reddeman Farms Golf Course in Chelsea. The Matthaei Botanical Gardens and the Washtenaw County Extension Service are offering a workshop titled `Gardening with Children: A Workshop for Adults’ 8:30 a.m.–3:15 p.m. July 11 at the Botanical Gardens. September 20 will be the 50th anniversary of the Space Physics Research Laboratory (SPRL). Carillon bells will ring
on Mondays throughout summer
The bells of the Charles Baird Carillon will ring with music performed by local and international recitalists at 7 p.m. Mondays through July 29. Donna Gleason, director of music at the Redford Baptist Church, and U-M assistant carrillonist Brandon Blazo will perform Mon. (July 1). On July 8 Margo Halsted, University carrillonist, will perform a premiere work by Jessica Fogel with the Ann Arbor Dance Works. The series is sponsored in part by the School of Music. The New American opens July 6 at Museum of Art
`The New American,’ a new installation by Detroit artist Carl Demeulenaere, is on display July 6–Aug. 18 at the Museum of Art. The artist uses Grant Wood’s American Gothic as a basis for examining the contemporary American family from a non-traditional perspective. The museum is open 11 a.m.–5 p.m. Tues.–Sat., 11 a.m.–9 p.m. Thurs., and noon– p.m. Sun. For information, call 764-0395.
OIP seeks hosts
for exchange students
The Office of International Programs seeks families interested in hosting exchange students from Finland, Russia, Japan and Korea for the 1996–97 academic year. The students, who speak English well, will visit the U-M as juniors or seniors and arrive in Ann Arbor in mid-August. Host families will not provide housing for the students but will be asked to show the students around Ann Arbor and offer friendly support as the student adjusts to the new surroundings. U-M-Flint runs
summer camp for kids
Camp Summer Fun, sponsored by the U-M-Flint Recreation Center, is offered to kids ages 6–12 in two sessions: July 15–19 and August 5–9. A full day of activities will be offered 8 a.m.–5 p.m. each day. Cost is $88 per session per child, and $78 for additional family members. Scholarships are available based on need. MTS in unattended mode
June 28, discontinued June 30
Although previous announcements about the upcoming end of MTS services have specified June 30 as the cut-off date, MTS services requiring operator assistance will actually cease at 5:00 p.m. Fri. (June 28). MTS will therefore be in unattended mode 5 p.m. Fri. (June 28)–midnight Sun. (June 30). At that time, all MTS User IDs, except those for which special and specific arrangements have been made in advance, will expire.

English classes for the families of international students, faculty and staff are offered by the Family Housing Language Program. Health Sciences Libraries offer workshop on Netscape
Netscape is currently the most popular software for finding information on the Internet. The U-M’s Health Sciences Libraries offer hands-on training to explain Netscape’s basic features, searching tools and techniques, as well as providing an introduction to the WorldWide Web. The workshop will be held noon-1:30 p.m. July 9 in Room B1 394 Taubman Center Building.

Learn infant and child CPR
The Pediatric Primary Care Clinic is sponsoring Red Cross Certification classes in infant and child CPR. Each five-hour class is offered for 2 1/2 hours on July 20–21, Aug. 17–18 and August 24–25. Celebrate musical theatre
with Michigan Radio
`Broadway Revisited,’ a new series on Michigan Radio, examines the evolution of American musical theatre from 1920 to the present. The half-hour program, heard Friday evenings at 7 p.m. through August, explores the songs, shows and lyricists who created the American musical theatre. `The King and I’ is the subject of the program this Fri. (June 28). On July 5, `Broadway Revisited’ will feature `Hair.’ Michigan Radio can be heard on WUOM 91.7 FM in Ann Arbor, WFUM 91.1 FM in Flint and WVGR 104.1 FM in Grand Rapids.
Skating Club seeks new members
