Holiday Closings

The Division of Research Development and Administration will close for the holidays at noon Dec. 23 and re-open at 8 a.m. Jan. 3. Faculty, research staff and others who plan to process materials through DRDA on Dec. 23 are reminded that only limited staff will be available and that arrangements should be made with the appropriate project representative to ensure sufficient time for handling deadline materials.

Risk Management

The Risk Management Department, which includes Employee Rehabilitation and Work Connections, will close at 5 p.m. Dec. 23 and re-open at 8 a.m. Jan. 3. Claims may be reported to the Work Connections message system, 615-0643. In an emergency, call the Department of Public Safety, 763-1131.

Arts of Citizenship

The Arts of Citizenship Program, 435 West Hall, will close at 4 p.m. Dec. 22 and will re-open at 9 a.m. Jan. 3.

Plant Building Services

Plant Building Services will close at 12:30 a.m. Dec. 23 and will re-open at 7:30 a.m. Jan. 3. Limited services, such as restroom maintenance, corridor cleaning and trash removal, will be provided Dec. 27–30 for buildings that are open during the holiday season.

There will be an ample supply of trash bags at the bottom of trash receptacles for those who wish to discard trash from their offices, laboratories, etc. Emergency services will be available Dec. 23–Jan. 3.

Requests for emergency service should be made to the Emergency Maintenance System, 647-2059, or the Department of Public Safety, 763-1131.

Social Work Library

The Library’s holiday hours will be:

  • 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Dec. 23

  • Closed Dec. 24–Jan. 2

  • 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Jan. 3–4

  • 8 a.m.–10 p.m. Jan. 5 (regular hours)

    ITD

    Most Information Technology Division (ITD) business and service offices will close at 5 p.m. Dec. 23 and re-open in the morning Jan. 3.

    The following are exceptions:

  • 4-HELP Consulting: Open 1–5 p.m. Dec. 27–30. 4-HELP staff will record status messages regarding ITD services throughout the break. Callers can report problems by dialing 764-HELP, selecting option 3 and leaving a voice mail message. Service-related problems will be communicated to the appropriate ITD service center or to the campus Y2K response center.

  • Campus Computing Sites will close at 5 p.m. Dec. 22 and re-open Jan. 3. All sites, with the exception of Angell Hall, will begin operating on their winter term schedules on Jan. 3. Angell will be open 7:30 a.m.–11:30 p.m. daily until Jan. 16, at which time it will resume 24-hour operations. Visit the Web at www.umich.edu/~sites/ for more information.

  • Computer Showcase will close at 5 p.m. Dec. 22 and re-open at 11 a.m. Jan. 3.

  • ITCom Customer Care Line (763-2000) will close at noon Dec. 23 and re-open Jan. 3.

  • ITCom Repair Service Line (647-8888) will close at noon Dec. 23 and re-open Jan. 3. Emergency voice, data or video repair requests can be called in to 647-8888.

  • ITCom Residential Service Line (763-0252) will close at noon Dec. 23 and re-open Jan. 3.

  • ITD Accounts Office will close at noon Dec. 23 and re-open Jan. 3. Office staff will check e-mail sent to [email protected] once per day throughout the break.

  • Operator Services (University Operators, 764-1817): The University’s switchboard will be staffed 7:45 a.m.–midnight Dec. 23; 7:45 a.m.–4 p.m. Dec. 24; and 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Dec. 27–30. The operators will provide around-the-clock service beginning at 8 a.m. Dec. 31 through midnight Jan. 3. Regular hours resume Jan. 4.

    Pierpont Commons

    The Pierpont Commons will close at 2 p.m. Dec. 24 and re-open at 8 a.m. Dec. 27. It will be open 8 a.m.–6 p.m. Dec. 27–30 and will close at 2 p.m. Dec. 31, resuming normal operating hours on Jan. 3.

    Purchasing Services

    Purchasing Services, Wolverine Tower and 300 North Ingalls Bldg., will be open 8:30 a.m.–3 p.m. Dec. 27–Dec. 30. To add vendors, contact Vendor Maintenance, 936-8849. For problems or emergency orders, contact the Help Desk, 936-7000.

    Printing Services, the Copy Centers, the Maintenance Service Unit on Kipke Drive, Boise Cascade Delivery and General Supplies Procurement will be closed Dec. 24–Jan. 3. M-Stores Food Procurement will be open 7:30–11:30 a.m. Dec. 27–Dec. 30 and will be closed Dec. 24 and Dec. 31.

    Service curtailments include:

  • General Supplies Procurement. Dec. 23 is the last day for deliveries until Jan. 3. For emergency orders, contact Food Procurement.

  • Maintenance Service Unit, Kipke Drive. For emergency orders, contact the Prime Vendors.

  • Hospital Service Unit. The unit will be closed Dec. 24 and Dec. 31, but will be open Dec. 27–Dec. 30.

  • Boise Cascade Delivery. For emergency UPS deliveries of Boise products, contact

    Boise Cascade directly.

    Exhibit Museum

    The Exhibit Museum of Natural History will be closed Dec. 24–26 and Dec. 31–Jan. 2.

    Parking and Transportation Services

    The Parking and Transportation Services offices, 508 Thompson, 1213 Kipke

    Drive and 3231 Baxter Road, will close at the end of the business day Dec. 22. Regular hours will resume Jan. 3.

    The fuel stations will be in operation throughout the holiday season. The Baxter Road service station will be accessible 24 hours a day. The Kipke Drive service station can be made accessible by contacting the Department of Public Safety, 763-1131.

    The Transportation Garages will close at 3:30 p.m. Dec. 23 and reopen at 7 a.m. Jan. 3.

    The Parking Maintenance office will close at 12:30 p.m. Dec. 23. Maintenance staff will be available until 11:30 p.m. Dec. 23 via radio. Limited maintenance staff will be available Dec. 27–30. Full operations will resume Jan. 3.

    During the holiday break, all emergencies should be directed to the Department of Public Safety, 763-1131.

    Property Disposition

    Property Disposition will curtail its normal operating hours during the holiday break.

  • Dec. 17: open 7:30–11 a.m., closed 11 a.m.–2 p.m.

  • Dec. 23: open 7:30–11 a.m.

  • Closed 11 a.m. Dec. 23–Jan. 2. Regular hours will resume Jan. 3.
