Gov. Engler appoints Womack to investment committee

Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Farris W. Womack has been appointed to the state’s Investment Advisory Committee by Gov. John Engler. The governor makes appointments to the committee with advice and consent of the Senate.

The committee is responsible for review of investments, goals and objectives of each of the state’s retirement funds and submits recommendations regarding them.

Womack, who will leave his administrative post at the U-M Dec. 31 to return to the faculty, served as controller for the state of North Carolina in 1987–88.

Womack replaces Frank Jerneycic, whose term expires Dec. 15.
