Good speaks on research policy

Mary L. Good, undersecretary for technology in the United States Department of Commerce, spoke at the U-M last week as part of the Distinguished Lecture Series on National Research Policy. Speaking on the `Future of the Academic Research Enterprise,’ Good said the best way for academic research to continue during the current climate of uncertainty for funding is ‘through stronger links between universities and industries. Partnerships between government, industry and academia can be used to provide the overall thrust to incentivise these interactions.’

The lecture series is sponsored by the Office of the Vice President for Research.
