Funds available for pilot on biology of aging
The Geriatrics Center and the Institute of Gerontology announce the availability of funds to support pilot/feasibility research in geriatrics and the biology of aging. The program is sponsored by the Claude D. Pepper Older Americans Independence Center and the Nathan Shock Center of Excellence in Aging Research.
The six or seven individual awards are for one year and will not exceed $20,000. Awardees will be permitted to apply for a second year of funding on a competitive basis.
Proposals, due Feb. 14, may involve biomedical science, health services research, clinical physiology and pathophysiology, behavioral and social science research, or investigations into the basic biology of aging.
The focus of the Pilot Grant program is investigators who have full-time faculty positions at the University at a rank no higher than assistant professor or assistant research scientist. Limited support may be available for full-time faculty members at any rank whose proposals relate directly to clinical intervention research.
