Faculty and staff are invited to attend one of three informal meetings to discuss workplace violence.
The meetings are scheduled:
The three public meetings are being held to gain a greater understanding and awareness of the concerns University workers have regarding threats or acts of violence.
A campuswide Workplace Violence Task Force is being formed to develop a comprehensive response to workplace violence. Members of the task force, yet to be selected, will begin meeting this fall. (An article in the Sept. 6 Record mistakenly indicated that just business and finance units were forming the task force.)
Representatives from several units have been asked to form a lead team to begin the process. They include Keith Bruhnsen, manager of the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program; Leo J. Heatley, director of the Department of Public Safety; Wendy N. Powell, personnel representative; and Bruce B. Pringle, assistant personnel administrator, Office of Employee Relations.
