Individuals walking near the Michigan Union will notice scaffolding at the main entrance. After review of the external brick, stone and mortar on the tower of the Union, it has been determined there is a potential for fall hazards.
“As a precaution, we have installed overhead protection to protect pedestrians while we complete the necessary repairs,” said Susan Pile, senior director of University Unions and Auxiliary Services.
The U-M Office of Architecture, Engineering and Construction will manage the repairs. The East Entrance will remain open during the repair.
