Don’t Miss: Chinese symphony orchestra performs

The Shanghai Jiao Tong University Symphony Orchestra performs “Global Harmonies: A Concert of American, Chinese and European Orchestral Music” at 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Hill Auditorium.

Conductor WU Yibo

Conductor WU Yibo is scheduled to lead the orchestra through a program featuring selections by composers Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Liu Yuan, Fang Kejie, Franz Schubert and Samuel Barber.

Established in 1896, SJTU of China has a long history of music and art education. The university’s symphonic orchestra dates to the 1920’s. It has performed extensively in China and in the United States, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Japan and New Zealand. Members of the orchestra are undergraduate and graduate students with artistic talents from all academic majors of the university.
