Discussions feature community values

Several discussions of community values have been scheduled:

“A Thoughtful Discussion of Political Correctness and Academic Values,” led by Law School Dean Lee C. Bollinger, 1 p.m. Thursday (Oct. 21) in Rackham Assembly Hall as part of the monthly meeting of the Regents.

The annual Davis-Markert-Nickerson Lecture will be given by Walter Metzger of Columbia University, 4 p.m. March 21 in Rackham Amphitheater.

The third lecture in the Rackham Conversations on Academic Priorities series, scheduled 4–6 p.m. March 16 in Rackham Amphitheater, is a discussion on free speech, hate speech and civility by Bollinger and other representatives of the University community.

The first lecture in the series, David W. Cohen, director of the International Institute and professor of history, speaking on “Constituting International Expertise: Who, What, Where, Why, How?” will be 4–6 p.m. Tuesday (Oct. 19) in Rackham Amphitheater.
