Dearborn, UAW-Ford enter distance learning partnership with Mott Community College

A new partnership between U-M-Dearborn and Mott Community College in Flint will offer UAW-represented Ford Motor Co. employees an opportunity to earn a bachelor’s degree at work. The distance-learning program will focus on work, technology and society.

Representatives from Mott and Dearborn signed an articulation agreement Feb. 1 with support from the UAW-Ford National Programs Center and the School of Social Work. Courses are being offered through UAW-Ford University at pilot plants in Michigan and elsewhere. Any student who has earned an associate’s degree in a designated major at Mott may transfer as many as 62 semester credits toward a bachelor of general studies degree at U-M-Dearborn. The program will facilitate transfers from Mott without duplicative study or loss of credits.
