Deadline for Alumni, Alumnae Council scholarships is Feb. 16

Students from the Ann Arbor, Dearborn and Flint campuses have until Feb. 16 to submit applications for Alumnae Council Scholarships and Alumni Scholarships.

The Alumnae Scholarships are available to women students who are currently or formerly enrolled in degree granting undergraduate or graduate programs at U-M. Candidates must have a minimum 3.4 undergraduate or 6.0 graduate cumulative grade point average, demonstrate financial need and involvement in the University community.

Approximately 100 Alumnae Scholarships are given annually and awards range from $500 to $5,000 annually and are awarded in March for the following year.

Candidates for the Alumni Scholarships must be undergraduates who are currently enrolled in degree granting programs at U-M and have a minimum 3.6 grade point average for the last completed term of 12 credit hours or more. In addition, they must show verifiable participation in the University community through volunteer work or employment and must demonstrate financial need.

Between 30 and 40 Alumni Scholarships are awarded annually; awards range from $500 to $3,000. They are awarded in March for the following year.

International students are eligible for both scholarships and are required to complete a supplemental financial statement.

Applications may be picked up in person or by sending a stamped, self-addressed envelope to the Scholarship Unit, Office of Financial Aid, 2011 SAB, Ann Arbor, MI 48109-1316 and from financial aid offices at U-M-Flint and U-M-Dearborn.
