Construction season begins
Workers hoist a seven-ton concrete crushing machine to the top floor of the Thompson Street parking structure, where renovations will begin May 6. The structure will be closed through the summer so the top three floors can be resurfaced. Water and salt have deteriorated the concrete and steel rods that reinforce the structure. The renovations will complete the job that began last summer. See story on page 9.
