University of Michigan graduates who missed out on their 2020 commencement ceremony because of the coronavirus pandemic will get a chance to celebrate in person.
The university is planning a 2020 Comeback Commencement Ceremony at 1 p.m. May 7 at Michigan Stadium. Graduates will be honored not only for completing their degrees, but also for their resilience and fortitude during challenging times.

The event will feature all of the honored components of a traditional commencement ceremony, with caps and gowns, a procession, speeches and the chance for graduates to have a professional photo taken before entering the stadium.
The main commencement speaker will be announced at a later date.
All seating will be open and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Family and friends are welcome.
The ceremony will be livestreamed at U-M’s commencement website. An electronic event program will be available for download at Michigan Stadium.
Some schools, colleges and non-degree granting units may conduct their own celebrations. Check their respective websites for details.
