Cancer Center’s benefit art auction set for April 18

The Comprehensive Cancer Center breaks into spring this year with two fund-raising events that highlight the Third Annual Spring to Life benefit.

At 6:30 p.m. on April 3, a preview reception at Jacobson’s department store will showcase the more than 75 pieces of art that will later be auctioned. Artists will be on hand to talk about the works they have donated.

Raffle tickets, on sale now, will be drawn at the reception for more than 40 prizes, including a trip to Hawaii, jewelry, theater tickets and U-M memorabilia. Raffle tickets are $2 each or $10 for a book of six, and can be purchased by calling 936-2516.

The silent art auction, set for noon on April 18, features such works as hand-crafted bird houses, tile tables, quilts, ceramic hangings, paintings and glasswork. During the bidding, patrons will be treated to a specially prepared brunch created by area chefs.

Admission tickets, $75–$250, which allow donors entrance to either or both the April 3 reception and the silent auction on April 18, are available by calling 936-9586.
