Campuswide New Faculty Orientation set for Aug. 21

A campuswide New Faculty Orientation, designed to introduce all new faculty to the University of Michigan, will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 21 on the second floor of the Michigan League.

Sponsored by the Office of the Provost and the Center for Research on Learning and Teaching, the orientation is designed to help new faculty members prepare for their first year at U-M.

The program will include welcoming remarks by Provost Laurie McCauley and Arthur Lupia, interim vice president for research. It also will include a CRLT Players performance and interactive sessions in which faculty can share experiences and strategize about good teaching.

The program includes a luncheon with a panel of speakers, including McCauley, President Santa J. Ono, and Rebekah Modrak, professor of art and design in the Penny W. Stamps School of Art & Design and chair of the Faculty Senate, followed by an information fair with representatives from key university offices.
