Two U-M departments recognized by cleaning industry
University Housing and Plant Building and Grounds Services at the University of Michigan have been granted Cleaning Industry and Management Standard Certification and honors for maintaining Green Buildings by the International Sanitary Supply Association. The recognition is the highest level of achievement in the cleaning industry. It follows six months of documentation, staff interviews and onsite observations.
Innovators sought to help young people with disabilities
Proposals are now being accepted for Small Grants for the Development of Technology to Support Health Management & Independence. U-M students, fellows, staff, clinicians and faculty are encouraged to develop and evaluate technology at any stage of the innovation process that will improve the lives of adolescents and young adults with disabilities. Funding up to $10,000 will cover personnel, supplies, and other costs for a one-year period. For more information, go to tinyurl.com/qdsjm5w or email [email protected].
Name change announced for MDetroit Connector
After nearly two years of serving the University of Michigan community as the MDetroit Center Connector, the service has officially changed its name to the MDetroit Connector. Service locations will remain the same. The new name reflects the broad commitment of connecting U-M and the city of Detroit. Further, the Detroit Connector no longer requires faculty, staff and students to make reservations to ride the bus. All are still required to present their UMID upon request. Respective schools, colleges or units are responsible for coordinating group trips.

Parking & Transportation Services and the Athletic Department again are asking for employees’ assistance, as they work to provide parking for the 2015 U-M home football season. All personal and university vehicles should be parked at off-site locations away from the Michigan Stadium area by 11 p.m. each Friday prior to home football games. Any vehicles in lots after 11 p.m. are subject to towing. For a map of the affected lots, go to pts.umich.edu/maps/central_south.pdf. For more information, go to tinyurl.com/ncbw4uy.
