Michigan Dining chefs beat Buckeyes

For the second consecutive year, Michigan Dining chefs won the battle in the kitchen against The Ohio State University, at the fourth annual Earth to Table dinner Nov. 8 at the Culinary Vegetable Institute in Milan, Ohio. Some of the dishes prepared by U-M staff included sugar maple smoked Lake Michigan whitefish salad with Michigan apple cider and grain mustard vinaigrette. Participating staff included Peter Julian, Robert Sutch, Aaron Bruck, Thomas Kulczynski, Nicolaus Machinski and Tammy Richter.

Applications due for UM-Dearborn stipends promoting female advancement

The Commission for Women Supplemental Professional Development Fund supports professional development activities of UM-Dearborn staff and faculty that promote the advancement of women and girls. Applications for stipends up to $500 now are available on a competitive basis, to attend conferences that relate to women’s issues, for women’s educational or professional advancement, textbook purchases and more.
