Hill documentary wins Emmy Award

 

The University Musical Society recently won a Michigan Emmy Award for the 2013 original documentary, “A Space for Music, A Seat for Everyone: 100 Years of UMS in Hill Auditorium.” The film won in the Best Historical Documentary category. It was directed by 2011 Screen Arts & Cultures alumna Sophie Kruz, in conjunction with a three-person communications team at UMS. The documentary is available at ums.org/about/hill-documentary.

Regents meeting July 17

The Board of Regents will have its monthly meeting at 3 p.m. July 17 in the Anderson Room, Michigan Union. To offer public comment at the meeting, sign up in advance at www.regents.umich.edu/meetings/publform.html. Public comments on agenda items will be taken prior to their consideration. Comments on nonagenda items will follow the regular business agenda. Submit work for U-M Health System Employee Art Exhibition

Each year, U-M Health System’s Gifts of Art presents an exhibition of artwork by UMHS faculty, staff, students, volunteers and their family members. The exhibit displays the artistic accomplishments, talent and creativity of the UMHS community. Prizes and ribbon awards for Best in Category, Best in Show and People’s Choice, determined by votes of visitors to the exhibit, are presented. To submit artwork, review selection criteria at www.med.umich.edu/goa/criteria.htm and fill out the art entry form available soon at the Gifts of Art website, www.med.umich.edu/goa/index.htm. Artwork is due the last week of July. Art drop-off will be 11 a.m.-4 p.m., July 28-31 at the Gifts of Art workroom, UH South (old Mott) Room F2553.
