U-M represented at Food Allergy Summit

Kathryn Whiteside, assistant director administrative services, Michigan Dining, represented the University of Michigan at the College Food Allergy Summit April 11-13 at the University of Arizona. The summit was presented by Food Allergy Research & Education, the nation’s leading nonprofit dedicated to food allergy. Experts gathered to continue work on the creation of comprehensive guidelines that will address managing food allergies in every aspect of the college experience. The summit is part of the newly launched FARE College Food Allergy Program, announced in January.

Michigan Law project recognizes two attorneys

The U-M Law School Chapter of the Iraqi Refugee Assistance Project has awarded two local attorneys with its inaugural Outstanding Pro Bono Attorney of the Year award. This year’s recipients are Nabeel Peracha and Heidi Naasko. Both were selected because of their exceptional level of engagement in IRAP casework and support for student learning. IRAP provides comprehensive legal representation to individual refugees seeking resettlement. Attorneys supervise law students as they help refugee clients navigate the rules and processes.
