UM-Dearborn receives NAACP award

Chancellor Daniel Little recently accepted the Trailblazer Award from the Western Wayne County NAACP Branch, on behalf of UM-Dearborn’s commitment to inclusion and diversity. Branch President Bishop Walter Starghill Jr. recently presented the award at the Commitment to Inclusion Alumni Reception at Fairlane Center North on the UM-Dearborn campus. The event joined alumni and community leaders to discuss the university’s work.

Second annual HRD Career Conference planned

University of Michigan Human Resource Development on June 4 is hosting a Second Annual Career Conference: Winning in the Workplace and in Life, to inspire U-M faculty and staff to take more responsibility for their career aspirations. It will feature Pete Thomas, author, businessman and NBC-TV’s most successful “Biggest Loser” contestant as the keynote speaker, with two additional career development sessions. The conference is free to U-M faculty and staff, thanks to sponsorship from executive officers. More information is at hrd.umich.edu/special-events#careermorning.
