The William K. and Delores S. Brehm Pavilion at the School of Music, Theatre & Dance has received LEED Gold Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is a green-building certification program that recognizes facilities for being energy-efficient and environmentally sustainable.
The installation of energy-efficient HVAC systems, wall and roof insulation, reduced lighting power density and other measures are designed to reduce energy costs by around 40 percent.
Half of the on-site generated construction waste was diverted from the landfill.
