Timothy R.B. Johnson, a visionary physician, educator and global health leader whose career advanced maternal health, medical education and health equity around the world, has died.

U-M has joined the Global Sport University Network Leadership Council, a collective of 10 universities worldwide leveraging sport science research to address complex societal challenges.

The Board of Regents will meet June 12 at University Hall in the Alexander G. Ruthven Building. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.

The Office of the Vice President for Research will award eight research faculty members from across the university for their leadership and contributions.

Lori Jean Mirabitur died peacefully on May 22, 2025, at the age of 63. She joined the Department of Cell & Developmental Biology in 2002 and retired in 2023.

Lincoln Faller, age 82, of Ann Arbor died May 5, 2025, in his Taos home after a courageous battle with kidney cancer. Faller joined the English Department in 1968, retiring in 2013.

Examining alternative ways to assess student learning, particularly at scale in “larger” classes, was the topic of the spring Provost’s Seminar on Teaching.

The University Research Corridor, the long-standing alliance between U-M, Michigan State University and Wayne State University, has a new name and a new partner.

Two peregrine falcon chicks hatched earlier this spring in a nesting box on top of North Quad — and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources has asked the U-M community to help name them.
