Advisory committee named in Ross School dean search

Provost Martha Pollack has appointed an advisory committee to search for a new dean of the Stephen M. Ross School of Business. The search process already has begun.

Susan Ashford, chair of the Department of Management and Organizations and the Michael and Susan Jandernoa Professor of Management and Organizations at the Ross School, is chairing the committee charged with conducting a broad search and presenting an unranked slate of recommended candidates.

In an email to faculty and staff at the school, Pollack wrote that Dean Alison Davis-Blake would step down June 30, 2016, “after outstanding service to the school and university.”

Additional members of the search committee include:

• Katherine Burson, Michael R. and Mary Kay Hallman Fellow and associate professor of marketing, Ross School.

• Evan Caminker, Branch Rickey Collegiate Professor of Law, Law School.

• M.S. Krishnan, associate dean of global initiatives, Accenture Professor of Computer Information Systems and professor of technology and operations, Ross School.

• Gregory Miller, Ernst and Young Professor of Accounting, and faculty director for the Paton Accounting Center, Ross School.

• Dana Muir, Arthur F. Thurnau Professor and professor of business law, Ross School.

• Stefan Nagel, Michael Stark Professor of Finance and professor of economics, Ross School.

• Jeffrey Sanchez-Burks, Michael R. and Mary Kay Hallman Fellow, associate professor of management and organizations, faculty director of the Office of Action-Based Learning and director of the Executive MBA Leadership Development Program, Ross School.

• Jeffrey Sinclair, alumnus and adjunct professor in business administration, Ross School; alumnus and adjunct professor in the Center for Entrepreneurship, College of Engineering; and director emeritus, McKinsey & Company

• Joe Tate, student, Graduate Business Administration, Ross School.

• Tom Wamsley, chief development officer, Ross School.

• James Westphal, Robert G. Rodkey Collegiate Professor of Business Administration, professor of strategy and chair of strategy, Ross School.

• Jeffrey Yu, student, Undergraduate Business Administration, BBA Council President, Campus Day coordinator, Office of Undergraduate Admissions, Ross School.

In her July email, Pollack praised Davis-Blake for her work. “The Ross School of Business has thrived under Dean Davis-Blake’s leadership and is therefore well positioned to continue on this positive trajectory.”
