David Turnley

David Turnley, associate professor with a joint appointment teaching documentary photography and filmmaking in the Penny W. Stamps School of Art & Design and the Residential College, has been named Best New Filmmaker of 2013 by NewFilmmakers Los Angeles. His film “Shenandoah” was named the Best Documentary Feature of the Year. “Shenandoah,” available on Netflix, was first screened at the Residential College Keene Theatre and premiered at the Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor. Turnley is an alumnus of U-M and has won the Pulitzer Prize for photography. A trailer of the film is at www.shenandoah-film.com.

Hae Mi Choe, director of innovative ambulatory practice models, clinical associate professor of pharmacy, and clinical pharmacist, U-M Health System, has been selected to receive the American Pharmacists Association Foundation’s 2014 Pinnacle Award in Individual Career Achievement (Category I). The award recognizes individuals whose actions have demonstrated exceptional leadership in enhancing health care quality and medication use. Choe has been a pioneer in advancing the role of pharmacists in the ambulatory care setting and within organized systems of care.
