This month in history (92 years ago)

In his 1920-23 U-M student scrapbook, Russell A. Thornquist included the list, “For
members of the Underclass Conduct Committee.” Numbered suggestions included:
“Learn ‘The Yellow and Blue’ immediately,” “Hide all your prep school insignia,” “Do not
plaster your suit cases with Michigan seals and stickers. Our University needs no cheap
advertising,” and “When an upperclassman speaks, remain quiet and listen. You will learn
more if you do.” — From Bentley Historical Library collections
