This month in history (89 years ago)A university team led by Professor Francis W. Kelsey assisted in the excavation of a site in Turkey, where 60 fragments of a Roman inscription was earlier found. They proved to be parts of a copy of an inscription in Rome, in front of the mausoleum of Augustus, called Res Gestae Divi Augusti. In July-August 1924, the university team recovered some 200 additional fragments related to the document. — From “The University of Michigan, An Encyclopedic Survey” Have a campus memory to share?
