The following items were approved by the Board of Regents at its June 20 meeting.
East Hall renovation for biopsychology
Approximately 12,500 gross square feet of office space within East Hall will be renovated to create a new research laboratory for the Biopsychology Area of the Department of Psychology. The $4.6 million project will be funded by LSA and is scheduled to be completed next summer.
Department of Astronomy moving to West Hall
The Department of Astronomy will relocate from the David M. Dennison Building to the third and fourth floors of West Hall to permit greater interdepartmental collaboration. To accommodate the relocation, a $5.5 million renovation of approximately 21,800 gross square feet within West Hall is planned. As part of the project, the administrative offices of the Department of Statistics will be relocated to shared space with the Department of Astronomy to gain administrative efficiencies. LSA will fund the project that is scheduled to be completed next summer.
Critical power upgrades at University Hospital
The critical power distribution system at University Hospital will be upgraded to support new technology, incremental medical equipment, changes to areas that have occurred, provide reserve capacity for future requirements, and improve system safety and reliability. The $1.6 million project will be funded from Hospitals and Health Centers’ resources and is scheduled to be completed next spring.
