Accolades

Julie M. Ribaudo, clinical assistant professor of social work, is the recipient of the 2013 Selma Fraiberg award from the Michigan Association for Infant Mental Health. Her contributions span supervision and training of clinicians, consultation to agencies and programs, and training and presentations nationally and internationally, always infusing information about child development, brain development and relationship-based practice.

Dr. Peter Polverini, dean of the School of Dentistry, recently received the Distinguished Alumnus in Dentistry Award from Marquette University. The award was presented by Marquette’s School of Dentistry and the Marquette University Alumni Association. Polverini earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology in 1969 and a DDS in 1973 from Marquette. He received a Doctor of Medical Sciences degree from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in 1977.

Robert M. Ortega, associate professor of social work, is the recipient of the Council on Social Work Education 2013 Distinguished Recent Contributions in Social Work Education Award. The award recognizes Ortega’s achievements within the last 10 years, and honors his innovative work on cultural humility.
