U-M releases annual salary report

Faculty salary increases at the U-M Ann Arbor campus for 2012-13 averaged 2.9 percent, according to figures from the university’s salary report released in December.

Salary increases for campus staff averaged 2.2 percent.

“Maintaining consistent and modest salaries is an important component of our ability to retain the best faculty and staff,” says Phil Hanlon, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs. “It is vital that we find a way to reward faculty and staff for their outstanding work.”

The staff averages exclude employees represented by a union.

Merit salary increases for executive officers averaged 2.8 percent. Merit increases for deans averaged 2.75 percent.

The 2012-13 Faculty and Staff Salary Disclosure Report now is available on the Human Resources website, hr.umich.edu/hrris/reports/standard.html#ASDR. The report also will be available at many libraries on campus, as well as the Ann Arbor District Library.
