Over the past seven years, faculty and staff have earned more than 50,000 Active U T-shirts. This got people at MHealthy wondering, where in the world have all those T-shirts been?
To kick off the eighth annual Active U program in January, MHealthy is asking U-M faculty and staff to put on an Active U T-shirt and take a photo as they travel and get active this holiday season. Then, post the photo on MHealthy’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/MHealthy by Jan. 4.

Five benefits-eligible employees will win an Amazon.com gift card or MHealthy Exercise & Relaxation Class 15-Visit Punch Card.
“The holidays are a big travel time, so whether you’re traveling across the state, country or globe, we want to know where you’ll be getting active this season,” says Colleen Greene, MHealthy senior wellness coordinator. “Throw on an Active U T-shirt, find a cool landmark and post your photo on MHealthy’s Facebook page to show us.”
Active U 2013 registration opens Jan. 22
Registration for Active U 2013, MHealthy’s 12-week physical activity challenge for the entire university, opens Jan. 22. All faculty, staff, students, employee spouses/other qualified adults and retirees can sign up as an individual, twosome or as part of a team. The 2013 program includes opportunities to earn money, T-shirts, prizes and more:
• Benefits-eligible faculty and staff who complete both the MHealthy Rewards 2013 health questionnaire and Active U 2013 can earn up to $100 (before-tax).
• Chance to win prizes during the program.
• Help the university reach an Active U record of 30 million activity minutes in 2013.
• Earn an Active U 2013 T-shirt by successfully completing the program.
“We’re encouraging everyone to start thinking about their Active U teams now since registration is only two weeks, Jan. 22-Feb. 5,” says Greene. “We want Active U 2013 to be our biggest, most rewarding year ever. You can earn $100 by completing the program and completing your annual health questionnaire and you’ll have more opportunities to win prizes.”
