The technology entrepreneur joined Twitter as chief operations officer in September 2009 at the invitation of then-CEO Evan Williams, who was seeking a replacement while on paternity leave. A year later, Costolo was Twitter’s new chief executive, after Williams stepped down to pursue other projects. Since then, the company has amassed more than 140 million users worldwide, nearly tripled its employees and relocated to San Francisco.

The talk, to be webcast live, can be followed at #twitteratumich. The School of Information and the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy are joint sponsors.
