Guy Winter has been named the first director of account services for Michigan Marketing & Design (MM&D), the marketing arm of the Office of the Vice President for Global Communications.

Winter brings nearly 20 years of strategic account management experience to his new role. Before joining MM&D, he managed large e-commerce, mobile and marketing projects at Fry Inc., serving such clients as AAA, Ann Taylor, Brookstone, Meijer and Humana. He also worked in account services for some of the best-known agencies in Metro Detroit (including JWT and Campbell-Ewald), on accounts including Ford, GMC, Onstar and Saturn.
He also has experience in the international realm. After selling and delivering a large-scale dealer extranet to Ford of Europe, Winter relocated to London to spearhead a pan-European sales pursuit, while simultaneously managing the account and launching his company’s international operations.
“Guy’s entire career has been spent helping clients develop and execute winning strategies,” says Matt Schlientz, director of marketing. “His passion for client service and the creative process will make him a great addition, and we’re excited to welcome him to the MM&D team.”
Winter will lead the MM&D account team, with responsibilities for optimizing customer satisfaction, innovation and growth. “I’m fortunate to have such a talented group of people here,” Winter says. “There’s an incredible depth of knowledge and passion for the U-M brand, which is a valuable differentiator.”
