Award
Ted Birdsall, professor emeritus in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, recently received the Silver Medal in Signal Processing in Acoustics from the Acoustical Society of America for contributions to signal detection theory and development of coded sequences in underwater acoustics. He retired from the university in 1996, after a 42-year career.
