Dr. George Mashour, director of the Division of Neuroanesthesiology in the U-M Health System, recently was presented with the 2011 Presidential Scholar award, one of the highest honors given by the American Society of Anesthesiologists. The award is in recognition of his work related to consciousness and neuroanesthesiology.

 

Jan Longone, curator of American culinary history at the William L. Clements Library, has been selected by the board of directors of Culinary Historians of New York to accept the 2011 Amelia Award recognizing extraordinary lifetime achievement in culinary history. The group cited her work and contributions to the Clements Library.
