Wendy Uhlmann, genetic counselor/clinic coordinator of the Medical Genetics Clinic and clinical assistant professor in the Department of Internal Medicine and Department of Human Genetics, recently was selected by the National Society of Genetic Counselors to receive the Natalie Weissberger Paul Lifetime Achievement Award. The award honors a member who has served with exemplary national achievements and volunteer activities on behalf of the NSGC and the profession.

Bridgette Carr, clinical assistant professor of law and director of the Law School’s Human Trafficking Clinic, was named the year’s Top Lawyer by Marie Claire magazine. The honor recognizes Carr for helping Michigan Law to launch the nation’s first legal clinic designed to combat what has been called the world’s second-largest criminal enterprise, human trafficking.
