Actress Jane Fonda and her husband, former Michigan Daily editor Tom Hayden, addressed a crowd of 3,000 Oct. 7, 1973, at Hill Auditorium. They said their cause was the plight of political prisoners in South Vietnam, and spent much of the address focusing on atrocities perpetuated by the South Vietnamese government. When anti-war former prisoner of war Bob Chenowith was introduced to the crowd, he received a standing ovation. — The Michigan Daily
