This month in history (83 years ago)

Soon after the Michigan Union was completed in 1919, the Women’s League began to raise funds for its own building. Mary Bartron Henderson (1904 graduate) was the driving force behind the construction as she served as executive secretary of the Alumnae Council, led the building campaign and remained chair of the building fund until all payments were made. The Michigan League cornerstone was laid in March 1928.
