3 arrests made in computer thefts

Preliminary examinations for two male U-M students and their female roommate who are accused of stealing $20,000 in computer equipment and radios have been postponed until March 17 in Ann Arbor’s 15th District Court.

The three, all 19 and from Macomb County, were arrested Feb. 22 and arraigned Feb. 23. The original preliminary exam was scheduled March 3.

Lt. James R. Smiley said the three are accused of breaking into Angell Hall and the Chemistry Building on Jan. 28 and Feb. 16.

Acting on a tip, University Police served a search warrant on the students at their residence on Vaughn Street and found property that had been stolen from Angell Hall and the Chemistry Building.
