3 are named AAAS Fellows

The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) recently elected three faculty members to the rank of Fellows of the association.

They are William R. Farrand, professor of geological sciences and curator, Museum of Anthropology; Charles M. Butter, professor of psychology; and Nicholas H. Steneck, professor of history and director, Medical Center Historical Center for the Health Sciences.

AAAS is the country’s leading general scientific organization. A Fellow is described as “a member whose efforts on behalf of the advancement of science or its applications are scientifically or socially distinguished.”
