Frank W. Gallup

Frank W. Gallup of Concord, Mich., passed away Jan. 7 at home with family by his side.

Gallup was a U.S. Army Tank Commander from 1955-58 and worked as a maintenance supervisor at U-M.

He began working at the University in 1990 as a custodian in Plant Building Services (PBS). He also served as a custodian supervisor II and III at PBS, and custodial supervisor in 1994.

He retired from U-M in January 2002.

Gallup was an avid fisherman, big fan of NASCAR racing, and a woodworker who adored his grandsons and spending time with his family.

He was born Jan. 8, 1937 in Albion to Frank Wallace and Violet May (Foster) Gallup. He married Barbara Sheldon Aug. 16, 1958 in Lansing.

Gallup is survived by his wife; three sons, Chris (Julie) of Chelsea, Douglas (Karen) of Concord, and Kurt of Concord; six grandsons; five sisters, Norma Black, Louise (Russell) Rossetter, Lois (Fred) Hill, Ernestine Norman and Beverly Sheldon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son.

Funeral services were held Jan. 10 at the Parma (Mich.) Chapel with the Rev. Barbara Lewis-Lakin officiating.

Burial was at the North Parma Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family in care of Tidd-Williams Funeral Chapels, 208 W. Erie St., Albion, MI, 49224.
