Venus’ mass transit

The planet Venus will pass in front of the sun June 8, and the “transit” will be visible from the Earth as a small black disk moving across the sun’s face. The transit will be the first since June 1882. On June 7, the Exhibit Museum of Natural History and Department of Astronomy will present a lecture by Shannon Murphy entitled, “Transit of Venus: A Century of Anticipation.” After the talk, instructions will be given on how to view the transit safely.
