Dr. Sanjay Gupta, senior medical correspondent for the health and medical unit at CNN, speaks to students at Alice Lloyd Hall March 25. Gupta, a practicing neurosurgeon and an assistant professor of neurosurgery at Emory University, reported from Kuwait in 2003 on medical aspects of escalating tensions with Iraq. During Operation Iraqi Freedom, Gupta reported as an embedded correspondent with the U.S. Navy’s medical unit, the “Devil Docs.” Gupta received his undergraduate degree and a doctorate of medicine from U-M. The Anshutz Fund, the Health Sciences Scholars Program and Lloyd Hall Scholars Program sponsored his appearance. (Photo by Martin Vloet, U-M Photo Services)
