Winner to winner

Lorraine Gutierrez, left, professor of social work and psychology and faculty director of the Edward Ginsberg Center for Community Service and Learning, joins students and faculty for the presentation of the 2004 Henry J. Meyer Fellowship Award to doctoral student Elana Buch, right. The ceremony was March 12 at the School of Social Work. The award, named in honor of the founding and long-term director of the school’s Joint Doctoral Program, is conferred upon students whose work is judged to make a significant original contribution to the empirical or theoretical literature. Gutierrez was the first recipient of the Meyer Award. Following the presentation, Buch read her winning paper, “Giving Care: Personhood, Morality and Exchange in the Constitution of Relatedness.” (Photo by Todd McKinney)
