1999 Open Enrollment books mailed
The 1999 Open Enrollment books were sent through Campus Mail Sept. 27, and most of them had been delivered by Oct.1.
All faculty and staff who are eligible for benefits, and who have a current address on file with Human Resources Records and Information Services (HRRIS), should have received a book. Anyone who does not receive a book by Oct. 6 should send an e-mail request for one to [email protected]. Be sure to include the address to which you wish the book(s) sent and your daytime phone number.
E-mail address for benefits publications requests
If you need an Open Enrollment book, a plan book for a particular plan or any other publication from the Benefits Office—during Open Enrollment or throughout the year—send an e-mail message to [email protected]. Include in your message the name or a description of the materials you would like, the address to which they should be mailed and your daytime phone number. The Benefits Office encourages the use of Campus Mail to save the cost of postage. However, if you need or prefer to have materials sent to your home, please include your home address.
1999 Personal Worksheets mailing
The Personal Worksheets for Open Enrollment contain personal, confidential information and are mailed to home addresses via the U.S. Postal Service. Worksheets are scheduled to be mailed the week of Oct. 4–8. The “How to Use BEL” brochure—which has the information needed to make a call to the Benefits Enrollment Line (BEL)—will be included.
Benefits Enrollment Line (BEL)
Faculty and staff have three full weeks to make their Open Enrollment call to BEL. BEL will open at 7:30 a.m. Oct. 11 and remain open until 11:30 p.m. every day, including weekends. BEL will close at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 29.
The Benefits Office encourages everyone to call early. BEL sometimes receives a heavy volume of calls during the final days of Open Enrollment.
Most Frequently Asked Open Enrollment Question
No, you do not have to call if:
(1) You do not want to enroll in or renew a Health Care or Dependent Care Reimbursement Account for 2000.
(2) You are happy with your current benefits enrollments.
If you do not call, your current benefits enrollments will continue into 2000, except Reimbursement Accounts, which must be renewed every year. Your current Reimbursement Account elections will end Dec. 31 unless you call BEL and re-enroll for 2000.
