The Department of Public Safety (DPS), in cooperation with the FBI and Comerica Bank have announced reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the robbery of Comerica Bank in Wolverine Tower on Sept. 29, 1997. This reward is being offered by the Detroit Clearing House Association (DCHA).
DPS Capt. James Smiley says the suspect is a white male 25-35 years old, 5’9″-5’11” tall, with a medium to stocky build, a mustache/goatee, and wearing a gray sweatshirt, light jeans and a blue baseball cap with the letters OC on it. At approximately 1:40 p.m. Sept. 29, the man entered Comerica Bank and demanded money from a teller, Smiley says. The teller handed him a bag with an undisclosed amount of cash. No weapon was seen and no one was injured. The man fled the bank on foot.
Anyone with information about the man or the robbery is asked to call the Department of Public Safety, 763-1131, or the FBI’s Ann Arbor office, 995-1310.
In addition, the DCHA will pay for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any person responsible for the robbery or attempted robbery of any of its locations. Individuals should notify local police in the location where the robbery occurred or the FBI.
