Orthotics and Prosthetics Center helps mold new lives

Jeff Van Sickle (left photo, standing) and Steve Cielinski form plastic wrap around a mold of a patient’s lower leg. After the wrap is formed and cooled, it will be cleaned and trimmed by Cielinski, as in the right photo.

Paul Cawley (photo to right) tests a prosthesis that includes a microprocessor to determine the forward motion for a patient depending on his walking speed. The center aids about 850 patients each month.
