U-M-Flint celebrates Women’s History Month
A full schedule of lectures, films, panel discussions and performances around the theme, “Women and Immigration,” marks the U-M-Flint’s celebration of Women’s History Month. The events, most free and all open to the public, will be held in Harding Mott University Center, unless otherwise noted.
March 10
Exhibition, artworks by Jose Antonio Gomez, through April 5, Fine Art Gallery. Opening reception at 6 p.m. March 14.
March 11
Poetry session, Sharon Ney and Danny Rendleman. 7 p.m. March 11, Clint’s Cafe.
Lecture, “Invasion of Turtle Island,” Kaye McGowen. 7:30 p.m., Ontario Room.

Presentation, “Old World Promises versus New World Politics,” Michael Schroeder. 1 p.m., Michigan Room C.
Panel Discussion, “Ethnicity and Feminism,” U-M-Flint students, alumnae and community members. 5:30 p.m., Michigan Rooms A & B.

Film, The Trained Chinese Tongue. Noon and 7 p.m., Clint’s Cafe. Documentary about three immigrant women explores Chinese-American identity and the immigrant experience.

Poetry reading, Irish poet Mary O’Malley, English Department Visiting Writers Series. 1 p.m., Michigan Room A.
Performance, “Works of Dance,” multicultural children’s dancegroup, The Company. 8 p.m., Kiva.
