OIT presents Expo ’97

The Office of Instructional Technology (OIT) presents Expo `97 Feb. 5-7, a series of events highlighting new instructional technology tools and techniques for teaching, learning and creative expression. All events are free and open to the University community.

Project Showcase: “Instructional Technology in Action at U-M” will take place 2-6 p.m. Wed. (Feb. 5) in the Instructional Technology Lab, Room 1712, Chemistry Bldg. Demonstrations of locally-developed products, including frameworks and discipline-specific applications, will be set up on workstations in the Instructional Technology Lab (ITL) and adjoining Science Learning Center.

“Workshops, Discussions & Demos: Participatory Events on Technology, Learning and Teaching” will take place 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Thurs. (Feb. 6) in the New Media Center, Room 3010, School of Education. Faculty and Information Technology Division (ITD) staff will lead topical discussions and workshops on the development and use of instructional technology based on current faculty projects and experiences. Representatives from related centers, such as University Library, also will be on hand for discussion.

“Come for Coffee & Cheesecake: A Faculty Gathering on North Campus,” 3-5 p.m. Fri. (Feb. 7) in the Media Union Video Studio. ITD’s Office of Instructional Technology hosts an informal gathering for faculty interested in using the Media Union’s facilities.

“A Hybrid Digital Media Show, Re-Sync,” is scheduled 5-10 p.m. Sat. (Feb. 8) in the Media Union Gallery. This event opens the third exhibition hosted by entity, the Ann Arbor Computer Artist Coalition. The interactive works, electronic installations, performances and animations will be open to the public Feb. 2-14.
